We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join the Cellular Pathology Team in Milton Keynes. This full-time locum role offers an ASAP start and an ongoing contract, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Scientist looking to further their career within a busy NHS laboratory. What you will do:

  • Prepare, process, and analyse tissue specimens within the Cellular Pathology laboratory.
  • Perform a range of diagnostic laboratory procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory colleagues and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control programmes to maintain high laboratory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HCPC standards, laboratory policies, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Science.
  • Current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in Cellular Pathology.
  • Previous NHS Cellular Pathology experience is essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable due to travel between multiple sites.
