Backend Developer - Automation & Scripting Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend automation tools using Python, Node.js, or similar languages
• Write scripts to automate workflows, data processing, and system integrations
• Work directly with stakeholders to understand the real problem and ask the right technical and strategic questions
• Build and maintain APIs, webhooks, and integrations with third-party systems
• Optimise and refactor automations to reduce load, runtime, or complexity
• Create clear documentation and version-controlled repositories for all automation projects
• Continuously test, monitor, and improve the stability and performance of automation systems

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on coding automations
• Proficient in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, or similar)
• Strong experience with scripting automated tasks, data manipulation, and API integrationFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deployment workflows
• Comfortable debugging and optimising existing codebases
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, ask clarifying questions, and deliver fast
