Job Description

We are currently seeking a Back-end Web Developer to join our growing team. You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining the functionality behind our high-traffic websites and internal systems. Working closely with the team and stakeholders, you will help deliver performant, scalable, and secure features that power great user experiences and support our business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain clean, scalable, and efficient code.
  • Build and optimise RESTful APIs and backend services to support web applications and internal tools.
  • Work with SQL Server and Entity Framework to manage data access, schema changes, and performance optimisation.
  • Collaborate with the team to define and integrate APIs and backend functionality
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and helping to maintain high code quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues in production and development environments
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and minimise regressions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Take part in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives

Skills Required

  • Strong experience with VB/C#, .NET framework, .NET Core/.NET 6+.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM tools.
  • Proficient in building and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently while contributing within a collaborative team.
  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.

Nice to Have

  • Strong knowledge of automated testing practices
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Comfortable using task tracking & documentation tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Understanding of logging, monitoring, and performance profiling tools
  • Experience working with data privacy, GDPR, and security best practices
