Site Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust / Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (cross-site working required) Town Walsall Salary £49,387 - £56,515 per annum Salary period Yearly Closing 07/09/:59

Walsall Manor Hospital is a busy district general hospital offering compete range of acute services. The Trust primarily serves the immediate population of Walsall with some patients requiring more specialised treatment at other, neighbouring Trusts. The Trust continues to invest in its facilities and services, supporting high-quality care for the communities it serves.

This role offers the opportunity to work within our integrated care model, contributing to high-quality services that help people remain independent in their own homes and communities.

We are committed to investing in our workforce and creating an environment where colleagues can learn, contribute and develop. Our new Urgent Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, demonstrates our ongoing investment in facilities and services.

As an employee, you'll benefit from an attractive salary and comprehensive benefits package (detailed in Employer Description above), plus access to NHS pension arrangements and staff accommodation where available.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is proud to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant, currently holding the Bronze Award, underlining our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Community.

Job overview The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust are working together through Transforming Care Together (TCT) to roll out Heidi Health's Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) across both organisations - freeing up clinicians from documentation and giving them more time for direct patient care.

We're recruiting an AVT Training Lead to shape how staff across both Trusts learn to use this technology safely, confidently and consistently. This is a hands-on, highly visible role at the heart of one of the most significant digital transformation programmes in our region - ideal for someone who enjoys building something new, working closely with clinical teams, and seeing the direct impact of their work on the ground.

You'll join a supportive, fast-moving Transformation Delivery Unit at a pivotal stage of the AVT programme, with genuine autonomy in how you plan and deliver training, and direct exposure to Trust leadership, Clinical Champions and frontline teams across two Trusts. This is a rare opportunity to help define how ambient voice technology is embedded into everyday NHS practice - and to build skills and a track record in digital adoption and change that will serve your career well beyond this post.

Proposed Interview week: W/C 14th September 2026

This post may close early depending on number of applications received.

Main duties of the job What you'll be doing
  • Designing and delivering training - group, one-to-one and drop-in - for clinical and non-clinical staff ahead of and during each AVT cohort go-live.
  • Providing floor-walking and "at the elbow" support during go-live weeks, building staff confidence in real time.
  • Coordinating a network of Clinical Champions across both Trusts, offering train-the-trainer support.
  • Supporting the transition from Dragon Dictation to Heidi AVT ahead of contract expiry.
  • Monitoring training coverage and adoption rates by specialty, and proactively supporting staff who need extra help getting started.
  • Working closely with the AVT Implementation Manager, Clinical Champions, IG and Clinical Safety colleagues, and the wider AVT Programme team.
What we're looking for
  • Experience designing and delivering training to staff groups in an NHS or comparable healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting the implementation or adoption of a new clinical system, technology or way of working.
  • A confident, engaging trainer who can adapt style and content for different audiences and levels of digital confidence.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear training materials and guides.
  • A positive, patient and encouraging approach to supporting staff through change.
  • Willingness to work flexibly across RWT and WHT sites, including occasional early, late or additional sessions to support go-live.
Working for our organisation Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
