You'll work within the teams delivering impactful operational and conduct risk related audits and assurance reviews across Skipton Building Society and/or the Connells Group. Your work helps safeguard customers and stakeholders by ensuring key risks are well managed.You'll collaborate with first- and second-line teams, providing timely insights and valuable advice. Beyond assurance, we're driving innovation - leveraging data analytics, storytelling in reporting and exploring AI to transform the audit journey.As an Audit Lead, you'll: Deliver a variety of risk-focused reviews using Agile principles, ensuring high-quality, timely outputs aligned with GIA methodology and reporting standards. Lead and review work from support auditors, coaching and guiding colleagues with constructive, real-time feedback. Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on actions that address risks identified through your assurance work. Monitor internal and external risk data, key indicators, and emerging regulations to support continuous monitoring. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, helping position GIA as a high-performing team.We're looking for an experienced auditor who can confidently lead risk-focused reviews and deliver high-quality assurance work from day one. You'll need to demonstrate: Proven experience in internal audit, with the ability to lead and deliver multiple complex, challenging assignments independently. Strong understanding of Conduct and Operational risk or proven SME experience within Financial Services. Comfortable working in an Agile environment, planning and re-prioritising seamlessly to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated and enthusiastic, driving delivery and providing excellent customer service. Outstanding communication skills - verbal, written and active listening- to engage stakeholders and convey assurance findings clearly. Skilled at quickly assimilating complex information, seeing the bigger picture, and adapting your approach with minimal direction. Confident in challenging existing practices, raising queries, and negotiating to achieve the right outcomes. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs.
