What you'll do

As an Audit Assistant Manager based in London, you will play an integral role in ensuring the successful delivery of audit assignments from planning through to completion.

  • Plan, perform, and complete audit assignments for a varied client base in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in regular discussions with clients to confirm progress, address any challenges encountered during audits, and ensure expectations are met with clarity and professionalism.
  • Identify opportunities for added value or improvement arising from audit work undertaken, sharing insights with both clients and internal teams.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff members by providing guidance, feedback, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Complete assessment forms for audit team members to support their ongoing development and performance management.
  • Prepare draft accounts, reports, and completion memos, including identification of control weaknesses or areas for improvement, for review by senior managers.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless delivery of audit services and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Delegate tasks effectively within the audit team while maintaining oversight to ensure deadlines are met without compromising accuracy or compliance.
  • Support the implementation of best practices within the audit function by contributing ideas for process improvements and knowledge sharing initiatives.
What you bring

To excel as an Audit Assistant Manager in this leading accountancy firm, you will bring significant experience from previous roles within professional services, ideally having worked extensively on UK-based audits. ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), demonstrating a thorough understanding of UK auditing standards gained within a professional services environment.

  • Proven experience conducting audits and preparing accounts for a range of clients within an accountancy practice setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate clearly with both colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others effectively while delegating tasks appropriately across multiple concurrent assignments.
