A little more about your role

As an Associate / Associate Director, you will provide technical leadership to our design and assessment teams, using your knowledge and skills to deliver quality work on time and within budget. You will lead design teams, mentor junior members, and support project success.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing technical leadership for bridge and civil engineering design and assessment projects in the UK and overseas.
  • Conducting project reviews to optimize solutions and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
  • Managing resources and developing relationships with other teams.
  • Agreeing on fees and managing project finances.
  • Promoting a culture of technical review and challenge.
  • Developing client relationships and leading tenders and bids.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members.

What we look for

We anticipate that you will be a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with experience including:

  • Practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance, and assessment from construction sites and design offices.
  • Experience in project management of bridge projects.
  • Proven expertise in design, maintenance, and supervision of structures, including new builds, assessments, and strengthening of bridges and civil infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW).
  • Understanding of Eurocodes related to bridge design.
  • Experience with steel, reinforced, and prestressed concrete bridge structures.
  • Proficiency with analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress, and SAM.
  • Strong communication, client handling, and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to adapt and develop within the team.
