Associate Tutor - Employee Relations and Motivation

We have an excellent opportunity for two Associate Tutors on the following module:

• Employee Relations and Motivation, MOOP009H7, Level 7 (Postgraduate)
• 13.5 hours of teaching in total
• Spring Term, Tuesdays,
• No option for flexible working but teaching groups available are In-Person or Online.

You will play a key role in supporting students' academic development by teaching on the Employee Relations and Motivation module, a postgraduate module designed to provide students with theoretical knowledge on employee motivation and applied knowledge on employee relations within organisations.

You will guide students in developing their critical evaluation of key theories and core constructs, and their critical writing skills. You will also help them build confidence and capability in their engagement with an evidence-based and theoretical approaches to understanding the relationship between employee motivation and employee relations. You will support students in their understanding of individual factors and further theories that address gaps in theory.

You will bring proven experience of teaching and supporting a diverse cohort of students. You will be confident in delivering seminars that enable students to engage with academic literature, evaluate evidence, and communicate effectively in written work. You will have experience in teaching, or have knowledge of, key topics and theories, relating to Employee Relations and Motivation.

You will have knowledge of academic writing and presentation skills (e.g., literature research, argument development, critical thinking and discussion) and experience of teaching and supporting students in relevant courses and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

Further to the person specification, additional essential requirements for this role are:

• At least a master's degree in a psychology related subjects or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Experience in teaching and supporting students in a seminar context involving small group activities, class discussions, and preparation for group and individual assessments.
• Experience in teaching, or have knowledge of, key topics and theories, relating to Employee Relations and Motivation.
• Experience in assessing student learning, which for this module will be a two-hour timed online exam covering topics from across the module.

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £61.39 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a 'Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' at 2.5 which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.

Fixed-term December 2026 to August 2027. Part-time contract teaching: 1.5 hours per week for 9 weeks, starting Tuesday 12 January 2027.
