Associate Town Planner

Location: Southampton

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits

Carrington West are pleased to be partnered with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation across the South Coast and throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their Southampton planning team by appointing a Senior Planner, Principal Planner or Associate Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and highly regarded planning team working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, strategic land, regeneration and infrastructure projects.

The Role
  • Manage a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to completion.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
  • Provide strategic planning advice to a broad client base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings, public consultations and planning committees where required.
  • Support and mentor junior planners within the team.
  • Play an active role in business development and identifying new opportunities (Principal/Associate level).
About You
  • MRTPI Chartered status (or be working towards it if applying at Senior level).
  • Experience within either a consultancy or local authority planning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
