As an Associate Project Manager - Onshore Wind, you will play a key role in developing projects that make the energy transition tangible. At Vattenfall, there is a way - and you can help build it.

What will you do?

You will support the development of onshore wind projects across England and Scotland, guiding them from early concept through to final investment decision. Working closely with experienced colleagues and external partners, you help ensure projects move forward in a structured and responsible way, directly contributing to the energy transition.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Project Managers in delivering key milestones during the development phase of wind projects
  • Maintaining project documentation such as timelines, risk registers, budgets and stakeholder plans
  • Taking ownership of specific workstreams, for example stakeholder engagement, ecological surveys or design coordination
  • Working closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure alignment across project phases
  • Engaging with landowners, public officials and local communities throughout the development process
  • Promoting a safe and structured way of working within project teams
Location

The position is based in Hexham (Northumberland) or Edinburgh, with flexible and hybrid working options. The successful candidate has to be prepared to, on occasion, travel and work out of office hours. A driving licence is desirable, but not essential.

Qualifications

Your profile

You bring initial experience in project environments and are looking to grow your career within renewable energy. You enjoy working together with different stakeholders and contributing to projects that evolve over time.

  • Holds a degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, environmental science or similar)
  • Has around 3+ years of experience in a professional setting, ideally within infrastructure, energy or development projects
  • Has a solid understanding of basic project management principles
  • Communicates clearly in English, both written and spoken
  • Feels comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders such as engineers, consultants and local communities
  • Works in a structured and careful way when handling documentation, timelines and data
  • Is open to learning and enjoys developing new areas of expertise
Nice to have
  • A formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 or APM)
  • Experience in renewable energy or large infrastructure development

The successful candidate will need to have the right to work in the UK

What we offer
  • A role with real impact on the development of new wind farms in the UK
  • Broad exposure to project phases, from early design to investment decision
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment with experienced colleagues
  • Flexible working through hybrid and remote arrangements
  • Opportunities to grow your skills and career within an international organisation
