Associate Director

A leading international consultancy is continuing to expand its Environment team in Ireland and is looking to appoint an Associate Director to lead environmental inputs across major transport infrastructure projects.
This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on project direction, client engagement and business growth. You'll be working at the forefront of large-scale rail, road and greenway schemes - playing a key role in shaping planning strategy, managing risk and driving successful project outcomes.
With flexibility on location, this role can be based in Dublin, Cork or Galway
Projects:
- Major transport infrastructure projects typically ranging from €50M up to €500M+
- Rail, road and active travel (greenway) schemes across Ireland
- Strategic Infrastructure Developments and Part 10 planning applications
- Large-scale EIARs, Natura Impact Statements and complex planning submissions
- Multidisciplinary projects alongside engineering, planning, ecology and GIS teams
Role:
- Leading environmental strategy and delivery across major transport projects
- Acting as a key advisor on planning, consenting and environmental risk
- Coordinating and reviewing EIARs, planning applications and environmental assessments
- Managing multidisciplinary teams and overseeing project delivery
- Driving client relationships and acting as a senior point of contact
- Leading bids, contributing to pricing strategy and securing new work
- Identifying innovative solutions to de-risk programmes and improve outcomes
- Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners across Ireland and the UK
- Mentoring senior team members and supporting wider team development
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant experience delivering environmental inputs on major infrastructure projects (transport experience essential)
- Strong knowledge of Irish planning legislation and environmental assessment frameworks
- Proven experience leading EIARs and complex planning applications
- Strong track record in project leadership, client management and delivery
- Experience contributing to bids and business development activities
- Chartered status (or equivalent) desirable
- Confident leading teams and working across multidisciplinary environments
Salary & Benefits:
- €90,000 - €100,000 + (salary will be dependent on the experience)
