Leads the bidding opportunities, managing where required commercial and/or estimating resources in the preparation of the estimate. Provides expert professional advice to clients and stakeholders during commercial discussions.
You'll be responsible for:
Leads a team preparing estimates and cost planning for a portfolio and/or projects.
Drives the delivery of measurement exercises, including preparation of schedules of quantities.
Develops strategic review of prospects and fact finding on key related elements.
Manages benchmarking exercises to test the estimate.
Develops strategic review of prospects and fact finding on key related elements.
Oversees the quality assurance of estimates within the function ensuring they are fit for purpose.
Presents the estimate to key stakeholders demonstrating a full knowledge and understanding of the project.
Provides experts estimating and risk modelling data to leadership roles interpreting and providing recommendations for both a technical and non-technical audience.
Analyses quotations as part of the compilation of the estimate.
Provides senior management and stakeholders with estimating analysis insight, modelling scenarios solutions and options, leveraging commercial knowledge.
Provides leadership and direction, managing and mentoring team. Attends discussions with clients and stakeholders for new opportunities and represent Mace.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You'll need to have:
Knowledge of estimating systems and their configuration.
Understanding & knowledge of construction techniques & costs within sector/Engine.
Understands the design process.
Understands how an estimate is put together.
Excellent Excel Skills.
Good presentation skills and presence in front of clients.
Understanding & Knowledge of the Engine/ sector
Excellent knowledge and understanding of region/markets.
Manages and influences key/senior stakeholders.
Works proactively and leads bid teams.
Coordinates with functional peers.
Develops and maintains a series of internal and external stakeholder/colleague relationships.
Maintains and Manages client/stakeholder at business/project level.
Coordinates and liaises with Clients & Key Stakeholders.
Ability to liaise with and influence leadership roles.
Ability to work independently and to tight timescales to achieve KPIs and strategic outcomes.
Directs, coordinates and manages others within portfolio area.
Relevant degree (or equivalent).
Chartered Status.
You'll also have:
Understanding of Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) & Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
Development of cost models including (amongst others) indirect costs, whole life , and prelims.
Familiar with sector Methods of Measurement.
Looking to develop a team and progress in the role.
Champions the advancement of the use of systems.
Leads planning and organising work in area.
Adapts and responds to change and/or organisational requirements.
