Salary 0.8FTE £21,460 to £22,513.60 per annum

Location County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight

This role is office-based; however, it also offers some agile or remote working

The Organisational Intelligence Team within the Isle of Wight Council's Chief Executive and Strategy Directorate are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Associate Business Information Officer to work closely with the Transformation Manager to develop the reporting systems and processes that enable the council to report effectively on its performance and progress against the corporate plan.

This role will require the successful candidate to undertake the Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship, delivered in conjunction with the Isle of Wight College. This programme takes approximately 2 years to complete and would suit someone who has experience working with data, has good level of IT skills, and would like to develop these further.

This is a challenging and varied post that offers a combination of both cyclical routines and project-based tasks.

You will be a key player in the continuation of our data journey, supporting the team with research and development of the data strategy that will enable the local authority to access and use its data to best advantage and to aid decision making at all levels.

You will have an opportunity to work across all service areas, supporting colleagues to develop their reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and essential data collection is maintained, supporting corporate information requirements as they arise, and assisting in the development of processes to maintain these effectively and implement automation where possible.

You'll need to be analytically minded with a flair for the translation and interpretation of data. You'll also be skilled at presenting ideas, engaging with your audience, and gaining 'buy in' for change.

Apprenticeship pay for the fixed term options would be either 0.8 Grade FTE or National Minimum/Living Wage, whichever is higher, with the apprentice.

What You'll Gain:
  • 80% of the full salary whilst you undertake your training, moving on to the full grade on completion.
  • Access to the Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship. Level 4 apprenticeships are equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree, or a Higher National Certificate (HNC).
  • A guaranteed permanent contract at 100% salary upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
  • Access to a wide range of training opportunities including Power BI, Risk Management and Project Management.

This role will require office working at least one day per week, with additional days needed as required to support the business.
