Associate Building Control Surveyor

Location: Nationwide Salary: 60k+

Join us as an associate building control inspector and you'll improve building safety and the environment we live in. You'll use your professional and technical skills to deliver statutory building control functions to our core and external growth services on a wide range of commercial and domestic projects. You'll be involved at every stage of the construction process, with health and safety at the core of your responsibilities, ensuring projects are safe, compliant, and sustainable. We are also preparing to meet the requirements of the new Building Safety Regime.

With innovative technology at your fingertips, you'll interface with various stakeholders and organizations. We expect you to be chartered and a member of a recognized professional body, such as CABE, RICS, CIOB, etc. For the right candidate, we will support your journey to become chartered. Job Description

What you'll be doing:

1. Participating in external contract, growth, and resilience projects
2. Delivering all building control functions, including pre-application meetings, plan checking, site inspections, and visits
3. Making decisions on works, applications, notices, and other matters under the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations 2010, and upcoming Building Safety Regime
4. Liaising with partner agencies and authorities as required
5. Upselling our building control and specialist services

What we're looking for:

1. Experience in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management, or similar fields, preferably within local government or a building control body
2. Thorough knowledge of current building control legislation and guidance, with strong practical problem-solving skills
3. Experience in administering building regulation applications
4. Knowledge of operating building control software systems
5. Ability to perform duties aligned with our quality management system and performance standards
