Assistant Surveyor (Part-Time) Milton Keynes Council (MKC) On-site / Office Based (4 days per week initially) Part-Time Contract 12 Months £17.21 PAYE per hour / £21.88 Umbrella per hour Inside IR35

Milton Keynes Council is seeking an Assistant Surveyor to join their property team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with surveying and property management experience who is looking for a varied role combining technical surveying, estate management, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the Council's garage portfolio, including inspections, lettings, maintenance matters, and disposals.
• Undertaking garage, estate, and property inspections, including vacant garages and garage compounds.
• Attending meetings with tenants, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Preparing reports, surveys, plans, property records, and risk assessments.
• Supporting surveying projects with associated administrative duties.
• Producing and reviewing CAD designs and drawings.
• Assisting with property maintenance and asset management activities.

Essential Requirements

• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Understanding of asbestos management and working alongside structural engineers.
• Experience using CAD software.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Access to a vehicle with valid business insurance.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Working Pattern

4 days per week initially for the first few months.

Reducing to 3 days per week once training and knowledge transfer have been completed.

Predominantly office and site-based attendance required.

Contract Length

12 Months

Rate: £17.21 PAYE / £21.88 Umbrella per hour IR35 Status: Inside IR35
