Working alongside Electrical Engineers, Revit and Senior Revit Designers, and the Digital Delivery Team, the Assistant Revit Designer will support adherence to the ISO 19650 standard, assist in applying building science and technology to design and construction projects, and work with a senior team to develop technical knowledge and innovative solutions, primarily during the delivery stage. They will also recognize the importance of post-construction aspects of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design team in reviewing client and user needs to help inform project briefs.
  • Assist with tasks related to the design stage in construction.
  • Gather information on environmental and regulatory requirements for projects.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and research tasks alongside Revit Designers.
  • Help assess survey needs and support data collection and organization.
  • Assist in developing design programs and contribute to project briefs.
  • Prepare documentation for planning and statutory approvals.
  • Create and edit basic design drawings using Revit/CAD and traditional drafting methods under supervision.
  • Coordinate detailed design information within a team.
  • Research and develop design solutions and innovative ideas.
  • Analyze material specifications and discuss design performance and production.
  • Maintain project design documentation and support the integration of production information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and scheduling activities.
  • Gather feedback and document client and user debriefs.
  • Collect data for building performance reviews and maintenance planning.
  • Explore refurbishment and sustainable building options.
  • Engage in professional development, including CPD sessions.
  • Prepare Revit/CAD drawings to company standards and surveyor requirements.
  • Organize and file BIM/CAD documents according to protocols.
  • Issue drawings and documents as requested.
  • Manage daily tasks with support, developing independence within a collaborative environment.
  • Maintain CAD/Revit libraries, including blocks and families.
  • Assist in quality control and updating standards.
  • Participate in user group meetings and discussions on tools and processes.
  • Attend training to enhance technical and design skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in drafting, technology, engineering, or related field.
  • HND in related field with 1 year of relevant experience OR
  • HNC in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools like Excel and Word.
  • Basic knowledge of MicroStation, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (Revit Cloud).
  • Ability to learn new design software effectively.
  • Understanding of 2D and 3D applications for engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of design, calculations, and systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of the discipline and related software tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
