101728 RMB to 150297 RMB per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Assistant Research Fellow - Artificial Intelligence (outsourced)

Professor Ying Weng is recruiting an Assistant Research Fellow to join the research project team in the School of Computer Science at University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for Professor Ying Weng's research project in Artificial Intelligence, including conducting work using appropriate research approaches and methods, writing up work for publication, and developing research methods and extending their research portfolio.

  • Undertake supervised research: plan, prepare, set up, conduct and record experiments and fieldwork, develop questionnaires, conduct surveys within the agreed programme.
  • Conduct literature and database searches; carry out analyses and/or tests; critically evaluate findings using specified techniques, approaches, and models; document results.
  • Contribute to production of research reports and publications.
  • Prepare and present research papers and progress updates to relevant groups, including external bodies.
  • Develop skills in research methods and techniques, and contribute to the development or choice of techniques, models, methods, critiques and approaches.
  • Communicate information and ideas to other staff; advise and assist staff within area of expertise.
  • Build relationships with internal and external contacts to develop knowledge, understanding, and future collaborations.
  • Work in conjunction with the research team to achieve project objectives and deadlines.
  • Participate in training and staff development events, as trainer or trainee, as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as reasonably required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Ability to contribute to method improvement.
  • Analytical ability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, internally and externally.
  • Evidence of sufficient breadth or depth of research methodologies and techniques to work in the research area.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Demonstrated desire to further develop skills and knowledge of research methods and techniques.
  • Practical experience applying specialist skills, approaches, and techniques required for the role.
  • Evidence of using research methodologies and techniques to work within the research area.
