Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Environment & Planning) to join our growing team at TOBIN. This role is open across any of our office locations (Galway, Dublin, Sligo, Castlebar, or Limerick) on a hybrid basis. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to develop their career while supporting the delivery of high-quality environmental and planning projects.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support Senior Project Managers and EIA Leads in the technical and financial delivery of projects, contributing to a wide range of environmental assessments and planning outputs. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders, gaining valuable experience across all stages of project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Support the EIA Lead/Senior Project Manager in delivering EIARs, PECRs, and other environmental outputs
  • Liaise with environmental specialists and contribute to coordinated project delivery
  • Stay up to date with planning and environmental legislation, policy changes, and local authority plans
  • Assist with project coordination across teams, clients, subconsultants, stakeholders, and the public
  • Support the preparation of Health & Safety documentation related to projects
  • Assist with invoicing and contribute to project cash flow management
  • Support communication with clients and internal teams, including Technical Directors and project delivery teams
Project Delivery Support
  • Ensure all work aligns with TOBIN's Quality Management Systems (QMS/EMS/OHSAS)
  • Assist in establishing clear project briefs, pricing schedules, and agreed terms with clients
  • Support the setup and monitoring of project programmes
  • Help coordinate internal teams and subconsultants, ensuring clarity on roles, budgets, and timelines
  • Assist in ensuring company procedures for subconsultants are followed
  • Support quality control processes, ensuring all work is completed by competent personnel and independently checked before issue
Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding membership of a relevant environmental professional body
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive approach and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
