Job purpose: Reporting directly to the Action Plan Lead (Youth Homelessness), the Assistant Principal Officer will provide detailed operational and functional support in the development and delivery of a number of strands relating to Homelessness Policy.

Reporting directly to the Action Plan Lead (Youth Homelessness), the Assistant Principal Officer will provide detailed operational and functional support in the development and delivery of a number of strands relating to Homelessness Policy.

The essential criteria are detailed in the Candidate Information Pack.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • i) Possess a degree level qualification or equivalent professional qualification
  • OR
  • ii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning AND at least 2 years' experience working within a homelessness function
  • 2. Candidates must demonstrate at least 1 year's experience of working in a significant housing/homelessness function/service, project/s, contract/s or programme of work, including ensuring effective governance arrangements are developed and maintained

Candidates must demonstrate their relevant experience in all of the following areas:

  • Yes
  • NoA) Effective written and verbal communication skills, including drafting reports and demonstrating effective negotiation skills
  • B) Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders towards shared goals
  • C) Development, review, implementation and/or delivery of any of (i) strategies, (ii) policies, (iii) procedures and (iv) systems
  • D) The implementation of homelessness policy in an operational environment and/or development of homelessness policy/strategy
  • E) Analysing and interpreting data and managing complex information
  • Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full including with reasonable travel timeframes

Desirable Criteria:

  • Hold a recognised professional Housing qualification
