Assistant Planner/Planner/Senior Planner

Senior Planner Location: Leeds

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a very well respected consultancy, in their search for a Senior Planner to join their Leeds office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a key role within a respected national consultancy, delivering high-quality planning advice across a diverse range of projects.

The Role

As a Senior Planner, you will lead and manage planning applications and development strategies across sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed use schemes. You will play an integral role in client management, project delivery, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
• Undertaking detailed site appraisals and providing strategic planning advice
• Drafting and reviewing Planning Statements and supporting documentation
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Liaising and negotiating with Local Planning Authorities and consultees
• Supporting and mentoring junior planners
• Monitoring changes in planning legislation and policy

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI qualified
• Strong experience within consultancy or local authority
• Commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
