Job Description
Assistant Manager - Full Time

Job location: Handsworth, Birmingham. This is a permanent full time position working a variety of shifts, 5 days a week, usually including at least one weekend shift. Full time positions generally require fully flexible availability throughout the week, including weekends.

  • Hours: 43 hours across 5 days per week
  • Pay: £31,449 - £32,648 per annum (43 hour contract)

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to customers.
  • Be responsible for the development of your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and providing feedback.
  • Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager and ensure customers are looked after, deliveries are worked quickly, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop.
  • Take responsibility for motivating and guiding your team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
  • Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.
Qualifications
  • A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
  • A people person who finds it easy to get on with everyone and builds strong working relationships.
  • Trustworthy and reliable, as the team and customers will depend on you to perform at the best of your ability at all times.
  • Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
  • Completion of a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if hired for the advertised position, which will be sent to you via email and confirm if you have any previous or unspent convictions. Employment is subject to a satisfactory check.
