Assistant Manager - Full Time

• Hours: 43 hours across 5 days per week
• Pay: £31,449.60 - £32,648.16 per annum

Work Overview

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager for our shop in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a permanent full time position working a variety of shifts, 5 days per week, usually including at least one weekend shift, requiring full flexibility throughout the week.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to customers.
• Develop your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Act as shop manager in their absence, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
• Motivate and guide the team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
• Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.

Qualifications

• Friendly, positive, hard working approach.
• People person able to build strong working relationships.
• Trustworthy and reliable, dependable to customers and teammates.
• Prior experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
• Completion of a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if hired.
