Job Description

Assistant Manager - Full Time

Hours: 43 hours across 5 days per week. Pay: £31,449 - £32,648 per annum. Benefits: 6 weeks holiday, 15% staff discount, staff benefits package, and more!

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager for our shop in Stamfordham Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. This permanent full time position works a variety of shifts, usually including at least one weekend shift. Full time candidates must be fully flexible throughout the week, including weekends.

Pay & benefits:
  • Salary between £31,449.60 - £32,648.16 per annum on a 43 hour contract.

As one of our assistant managers you will:
  • Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to our customers.
  • Be responsible for developing your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and providing feedback.
  • Be accountable for the shop in the shop manager's absence, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop.
  • Motivate and guide your team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
  • Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.
You will need:
  • A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
  • To be a people person who easily builds strong working relationships with everyone you work with.
  • To be trustworthy and reliable, as you will be an important part of a small team that customers and colleagues depend on.
  • Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
  • To complete an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if successful and offered the advertised position.
