What you will be doing
We are looking for an Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing Health & Safety Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience and work towards becoming a qualified Health & Safety Advisor.
You don't need previous Health & Safety experience to apply. We will provide full training and support, making this an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of, or looking to start, their health & safety career.
Working alongside experienced Health & Safety professionals across a variety of construction & civil engineering projects, you will gain valuable practical experience while helping us maintain and continually improve our strong Health & Safety culture.
What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with our Health & Safety Team and operational teams to:
- Support H&S Advisors in promoting high standards of Health & Safety across our projects and wider business.
- Provide practical Health & Safety support to teams at all levels of the organisation.
- Assist with Health & Safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety initiatives and campaigns.
- Develop your knowledge and experience through on-the-job learning and working alongside experienced H&S professionals.
- Work towards relevant Health & Safety qualifications as part of your professional development.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and committed to developing a career in Health & Safety.
You'll ideally have:
- A genuine interest in Health & Safety and a desire to develop a career within the profession.
- An interest in working within the construction industry and promoting high Health & Safety standards.
- Good IT skills and confidence using technology.
- A positive, proactive and hardworking approach.
- The willingness to learn, develop new skills and undertake relevant professional qualifications.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with people at all levels.
Previous experience in construction or Health & Safety would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We are more interested in your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Your development
This role is designed to give you the knowledge, experience and support needed to progress into a Health & Safety Advisor role.
You'll work alongside experienced members of our Health & Safety Team, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects, activities and Health & Safety challenges. We will support you in developing professionally and working towards relevant qualifications as you progress your career.
