Assistant Chef

Location: Cottenham Court Care Home, High Street, Cottenham, Cambridge, CB24 8SS. Salary: £14.09-£15.59 per hour depending on experience. Permanent contract, 40 hours per week on a rota basis with alternate weekends. £1000 Welcome bonus, paid after 4 weeks of service.

Responsibilities

• Create varied and nutritious menus in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Prepare, cook and serve food, ensuring high quality and presentation.
• Provide ideas to enhance the dining experience and make residents feel at home.
• Train and manage kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking and serving.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies, procedures and budgets.
• Manage orders, deliveries and maintain stock levels.
• Prepare catering for special events or seasonal activities such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking and experience in a fresh food kitchen.
• Relevant hygiene certificates.
• Innovative approach to cooking while maintaining high standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to cherish moments with residents and share love of food.
