About the Role:
As an Asbestos Officer, you will support the Asbestos Compliance Officer in ensuring that we meet all statutory and legal obligations concerning asbestos safety across our managed portfolio. Your technical expertise and proactive approach will help coordinate surveys, re-inspections, remediation, and removal programs in line with our Asbestos Management Plan and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Asbestos Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and review the Asbestos Policy and Management Plan.
* Oversee the surveying and re-inspection program as required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
* Coordinate asbestos removal programs, ensuring accurate and timely information flow from contractors.
* Conduct surveys and sampling in properties as needed, especially during emergencies.
* Maintain and manage the asbestos data within our asset management system, ensuring an up-to-date asbestos register.
* Validate survey data to ensure accuracy and robustness.
* Monitor and audit contractor works related to asbestos services, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
* Support the delivery of asbestos awareness training and provide specialist support for face fit testing.

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential: Asbestos Qualifications (P402, P403/P404, P405) and detailed knowledge of asbestos regulations.
* Experience managing asbestos in domestic and public buildings.
* A full UK driving license is required for this role.
