Area Sales Manager

£35,000pa (negotiable d.o.e) + excellent commission package. O.T.E at least £50,000pa. Location: M14 5BJ. Benefits include 31 days holiday, company car, training, and permanent employment.

Due to internal progression, a UK manufacturer of capital machinery has an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join their established team. You will promote product ranges to both prospect and existing clients throughout the designated sales area (Manchester/North West and M46 Corridor):

  1. Effectively planning a sales cycle for the territory to maximize revenue.
  2. Pro-actively conducting sales calls, appointment setting, and territory mapping (cold calling).
  3. Visiting clients' sites, understanding their needs, educating on machinery options, negotiating prices, and closing sales.
  4. Arranging demonstrations at the Northamptonshire Head Office showroom for existing and prospective clients.
  5. Liaising with internal departments such as Sales Office, Service, and Workshop Teams regarding order requirements, follow-up, and after-care.
  6. Supporting other Area Sales Managers and the Sales Director on projects and tenders as required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate successful sales experience with capital machinery, material handling systems, or tooling, and possess a strong engineering/technical mindset. A positive, proactive, and determined approach to sales is essential. Excellent communication skills, confidence, and a friendly manner are required for sales calls and presentations. Initial training will be provided at Head Office in Northamptonshire over the first two weeks.

This role is suitable for those with experience in Field Sales, Sales Engineering, or as a Field Account Manager.
