Area Relief Security Officer (North) - HPC

Posted on April 14th, 2026.

Location: Avonmouth Docks, Brockworth, Junction 21 - may require occasional travel to the main Hinkley Point C Construction Site and other associated developments.

Salary: £16.28 per hour.

Hours: Average 42 hours per week, based on a 12 hour shift pattern rotating through days, nights and weekends.

Employment type: Permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full time, permanent role with guaranteed hours working across the Hinkley Point C security estate, providing surge, absence and holiday cover.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety procedures as set by the client and G4S.
  • Deploy on tasks as set by the supervisor.
  • Conduct duties at the Site Main Entry Point.
  • Carry out search procedures on vehicles and personnel.
  • Conduct high visibility patrols (foot & mobile).
  • Operate Proof of Presence systems.
  • Respond to security incidents and assist in coordination of follow up activities.
  • Produce incident reports.
  • Liaise with emergency services.
  • Operate, maintain equipment and report equipment failures or faults.
  • Deliver the highest standards of customer and employee care.

Specific Occupational Requirements
  • A current valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.
  • Ability to pass and hold National Security Clearance vetting.
  • Full UK driving licence (manual) is mandatory.
  • Ability to produce a five year verifiable work history.
Educational Requirements / Qualifications
  • Basic standard of education in maths, English and IT.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience as a security professional in a corporate, critical national infrastructure, police or military environment.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements.
