At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as an Area Health and Safety Lead at our Hinkley Point C site.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services. This approach enables different contractors to work as a single entity to deliver complex installations within the power station.

The role

As an Area Health and Safety Lead, you'll have a unique role. Being part of the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C offers involvement in a major project of national significance.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Acting as the first point of contact for H&S Advisors.
2. Escalating unresolved issues or those requiring further support to H&S / Discipline Leads.
3. Overseeing HSE advisors' KPIs and supporting HSE Area Lead with investigations.
4. Recording audit and inspection findings in line with HSSE management systems.
5. Building relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor.
6. Monitoring working practices regarding health, safety, environment, and welfare of MEH employees and contractors.

This full-time role is based onsite at Hinkley Point C near Bridgwater.

Essential experience

Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations.

Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
