An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands College for a passionate and proactive Apprenticeship Trainer & Skills Coach in Specialist Education to provide high-quality training, coaching, and assessment to apprentices working within support and specialist support roles. You will play a vital role in helping apprentices develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to excel in their roles and successfully complete their apprenticeship standards and qualifications.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

As an Apprenticeship Trainer & Skills Coach in Specialist Education, you will take ownership of the entire apprenticeship journey, supporting learners from enrolment through to successful completion. Through your expertise, guidance, and encouragement, you will make a genuine difference to apprentices' professional development and career progression.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging training, coaching, and assessment to apprentices in specialist education and support roles.

• Supporting apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required by apprenticeship standards.

• Conducting regular workplace visits, progress reviews, and assessments with apprentices and employers.

• Monitoring apprentice progress, setting meaningful targets, and ensuring timely achievement of qualifications.

• Developing and agreeing individual training plans with apprentices and employers, ensuring alignment with apprenticeship standards and compliance with funding requirements.

• Building effective relationships with employers to support workplace learning and professional development.

• Providing employers with regular updates on apprentice progress and achievement.

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support quality assurance, compliance, and funding requirements.

• Contributing to high levels of learner achievement, retention, and positive outcomes across apprenticeship programmes.

Experience

• Experience delivering training, coaching, and assessment within an apprenticeship, educational, or workplace learning environment.

• Knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship standards and vocational training delivery.

• Experience supporting learners within specialist education or SEND-related environments.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital systems used to support learning and reporting.
