Your RoleWe're excited to announce that we're looking for an Air Transport apprentice to join our Air Logistics teams based in Heathrow. Working across two sites next to Heathrow airport, our teams handle air import, air export, and road freight shipments. They are responsible for liaising with customers, executing bookings, generating documentation, and ensuring timely collection & delivery of cargo to/from the airport. Your ResponsibilitiesOur 24-month Apprenticeship programme is designed to provide a blend of practical on-the-job training and study towards the Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Apprenticeship.
The team provides a UK service to our customers, including collecting and delivering cargo to/from the airport Ground Handling Agents (GHA), arranging special transport for urgent shipments, and booking temperature-controlled vehicles for pharmaceutical goods.
You will learn how to
- Plan truck routes and work with hauliers to drive business performance
- Ensure customs compliance by adhering to laws, regulations, and procedures governing the import and export of goods
- Review and optimize processes for volume utilization and cost reductions
- Participate in key projects as required
- Oversee and optimize relationships with suppliers
- Support team metrics and work proactively with stakeholders, including hauliers, to meet and exceed targets
- The minimum entry requirement for this apprenticeship is five GCSEs at grades 3-9 / A -D, including Maths & English
- We value candidates who are passionate about customer service, have a strong work ethic, and can communicate effectively. Good planning and organizational skills are important, along with the ability to multitask and be a self-starter
- Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial
- Please note this vacancy does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship or apprenticeship funding; candidates must have been resident in the EEA for at least the last 3 years

Apprenticeship Contract: Fixed Term 2 years
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 am to 5:00 pm
Place of work: Onsite, full-time
