LloydLand Rover Houghton-le-Spring - Apprentice Technician - Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician

This apprenticeship combines off-the-job training with on-the-job learning and you will be supported every step of the way. Apprentices obtain a nationally recognised qualification upon successful completion of the programme.

The Role

From engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features, technicians are skilled in all aspects of car mechanics and electronics. A technician's responsibilities may include the following:

• Servicing vehicles and maintaining cars by performing checks and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
• Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.
• Advising Service Receptionists about required repairs.
• Maintaining repair and service records.
• Investigating reported issues with the help of specialised tools and diagnostic equipment, and seeking guidance from senior employees as needed.
• Developing and comprehending the relevant documents for warranty work.

The Training

Qualification:

• Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician.
• All Motor Vehicle Technician Apprentices receive off-the-job training at the state-of-the-art Manufacturer's Training Centre, ensuring consistent training across the UK and the opportunity to study the latest products and technology.
• Over three years, the training is conducted in both workshops and classroom settings.
• With the increasing presence of Hybrid and Electric cars you will receive comprehensive EV training designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to carry out safe and competent work.

Applicants must possess the following

• GCSE grades level 4 or above in English, Maths and two other subjects (or equivalent qualifications).
• Team player.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to operate well under pressure.
