Apprentice Painter and Decorator - Ian Williams

Pay Rates
  • Starting rate: £10.06 per hour (£20,401 per annum)
  • Qualified rate: £17.89 per hour (£36,280 per annum)
Apprenticeship Overview

As an Apprentice at Ian Williams, you will learn on the job, gaining hands on experience while studying at college. You will be supported by experienced tradespeople, including a dedicated mentor, and work towards mastering your chosen trade.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a variety of projects including social housing, schools, care and support facilities.
  • Prepare surfaces (filling, sanding, caulking), master paint application, sprucing up gloss work on doors, windows and skirtings.
  • Carry out external works such as railings, sheds, fences and walls.
  • Explore different sites and work both inside and outside in all weather conditions.
  • Attend college once a week to study the theory behind the trade.
  • Build a portfolio of evidence for the End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade G or above in Maths and English.
  • No prior experience required - just a genuine passion for painting and decorating, a positive attitude, problem solving mindset and strong organisational skills.
  • Commitment to building your career at Ian Williams.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK permanently (no visa sponsorship).
