Applications Engineer

WA Consultants is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our client on an initial 6-month contract. This hybrid role requires attendance in Taunton 1-2 days per week.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of SaaS-based collaboration and development tools. The role combines technical expertise with service management best practice, ensuring reliable and efficient application performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and configure SaaS platforms such as GitHub, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Lucid, and Mural
• Provide application support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
• Manage incidents and service requests in alignment with ITIL principles and established service management processes
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex queries and issues
• Support and mentor junior team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous development
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational best practices

Key Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience administering and configuring SaaS-based DevOps tooling (eg, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Lucid, Mural)
• Strong background in application support within a structured IT service environment
• Solid understanding of ITIL principles and service management best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
