About the Role

We are partnering with a leading global financial services organisation seeking a Senior Application Production Support Engineer to support critical Regulatory Reporting platforms. This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical applications that support regulatory and risk reporting functions.

You will work closely with Technology, Business, Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams to provide production support, resolve complex incidents, and drive operational excellence across a global environment.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced support professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, working with business stakeholders, and supporting enterprise-scale applications within a fast-paced banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production and business support for Regulatory Reporting applications.
• Monitor application health, performance, and availability across production environments.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, service interruptions, and user issues within defined SLA targets.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring incidents.
• Support batch processing environments and critical data processing schedules.
• Manage incident communications and provide timely updates to business and technology stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Business teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Support change, release, and deployment activities across production environments.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop a strong understanding of regulatory reporting processes, data flows, and business requirements.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational best practices.
• Provide support to global stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years+ of Experience in Application Production Support within a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management.
• Hands-on Experience supporting applications hosted on Linux and Windows platforms.
• Strong Oracle and SQL Server database expertise.
• Advanced SQL skills with Experience writing and troubleshooting complex queries.
• Proven Experience managing high-priority production incidents and restoring service within tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes quickly.
• Experience supporting batch processing applications and scheduling tools such as AutoSys.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
• Experience providing direct support to business users and Senior stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting Regulatory Reporting applications.
• Knowledge of Market Risk, Basel, FRTB, or other regulatory reporting frameworks.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as:
  • Splunk
  • Dynatrace
  • ITRS Geneos
• Experience delivering automation and operational improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of end-to-end data flows, batch processing frameworks, and system integrations.
• Experience working within a global support model across multiple regions.
