Antibody Development Scientist

You'll be joining an experienced team in a leading biopharmaceutical organisation focused on advancing innovative antibody and protein therapeutics. You'll be part of a collaborative R&D environment dedicated to developing high quality formulations that support all stages of product development.
Your new roleThis is initially a 12 month contract position that has the potential to extend. The role is fully based on site at the company's labs.
As a Scientist in antibody formulation development, you will support non clinical and clinical programs by developing, analysing, and optimising formulations for monoclonal antibodies and novel therapeutic formats.
Key responsibilities include:- Performing analytical and formulation experiments to support toxicology and clinical studies
- Conducting protein/antibody analysis using methods such as HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, and sub visible particle analysis
- Supporting pre formulation and formulation laboratory activities, including setup and resource coordination
- Authoring protocols, reports, and technical documentation based on an understanding of protein degradation mechanisms
- Presenting findings to project teams and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to technology platform improvements, including automation where applicable
You should have:
- An MSc or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
- Strong hands on lab experience with the analysis of large molecules (proteins, peptides, antibodies, etc) using a variety of techniques, preferably in an industry setting, e.g., a pharmaceutical company, biotech or CRO
- Direct experience with protein/antibody analytical methods (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI)
- Experience in formulation development and/or automation is an advantage
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork abilities
- All candidates MUST have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship until at least April 2027.
