About the team
We have a brand-new opportunity for anAnalysis and AI Product Leadto join our Digital team, part of our Product and Innovation group.
It's an exciting time to join our team. We're on a mission to transform the way the industry delivers and maintains urban environments that work for people and planet, starting with our own business, and we're starting to build momentum.
We've developed a bespoke web-based platform called Origin, designed to enable engineers and consultants to make smarter decisions using data and insights. This means gathering, using and reusing both project design data and real-world building performance data from start to finish.
About the role
We are developing several products and features under the banner of "Analysis" as part of the Origin ecosystem, which include:
• Kaleidoscope: A machine-learning tool to make early-stage design analysis much faster than traditional methods
• SAM (Sustainability Analytical Model): A toolset for rapidly creating simulation models and outputs
We are seeking a Product Lead for Analysis and AI with a broad background in ML, AI, simulation, analysis, data science and research.
Bringing your experience with computation and machine learning in the field of architecture, engineering or construction, as well as digital product management, you will play a crucial role in transforming the firm's approach to solving some of our clients' greatest challenges.
You will play a key role in developing a collection of computational, Machine Learning and AI-focused features for our Origin platform, working with stakeholders to prioritise features, and collaborating with software developers in the team to deliver and deploy those features. Your work will be integral to creating an ecosystem that harnesses the full range of specialist expertise within Hoare Lea.
Collaborating with the Director for AI, you will lead the firm's efforts to harness Machine Learning and AI to deliver advancements in computation and engineering. Leading the research of generative AI advancements with the wider Digital team, you will be integral to driving the evolution of the Digital and AI capabilities of the firm.
In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
- Develop new features and improve existing products and capabilities that support analysis - calculations, simulations, machine learning predictive modelling.
- Ensure both the correct prioritisation and quality of delivery of new features.
- Have effective ownership in this space.
- Continue effective development and scaling of existing projects.
- Support academic engagement and R&D efforts with higher education partners.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Demonstrable experience working either as a product lead or in a related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex data-driven projects.
- Experience working with statistical models and algorithms.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools in the built environment.
- Ability to research, horizon-scan and validate new ideas and technologies.
- Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity!
- Experience supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
- Agile product management / being part of a development team that adheres to Agile principles.
- Working knowledge / direct experience with Python or similar.
- Testing and evaluating ML / software solutions.
