Amicable Collection Officer

Nexeo Belgium is looking for an Amicable Collection Officer to support a key player in the financial sector in managing and resolving unpaid accounts through proactive and customer-oriented solutions.

Mission context

As an Amicable Collection Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining healthy credit portfolios by engaging with customers in arrears and negotiating sustainable payment solutions. You will handle daily interactions with clients, analyze individual cases, and help avoid escalation to legal proceedings by resolving issues at the pre-litigation stage.

Function description

Client engagement & negotiation

• Contact customers with overdue payments via phone, email, and written communication
• Understand the customer's financial situation and propose appropriate solutions
• Negotiate realistic payment plans and ensure timely follow-up
• Prevent legal escalation by facilitating amicable settlements

File analysis & administration

• Analyze customer files to assess financial risk and repayment capacity
• Accurately document actions, agreements, and relevant communication
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, customer service)

Process improvement

• Contribute to the improvement of collection processes and tools
• Share feedback and propose enhancements to optimize recovery strategies

Agile environment

You will work in a dynamic, trilingual environment (Dutch, French, English), where collaboration, adaptability, and empathy are essential. The position is structured in a hybrid format: 50% on-site in Brussels, 50% remote.

Your profile

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree

Languages

• Dutch and French: excellent written and verbal communication skills
• English: very good working knowledge

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role or relevant financial environment
• Strong command of MS Office
• Comfortable using various IT tools
