Job Description

SEI is seeking to hire an Operations Alternative Specialist in our SEI Wealth Platform Business. The SEI Wealth Platform (the Platform) is an outsourcing solution for wealth managers encompassing wealth processing services and wealth management programs, combined with business process expertise. What you will do:
  1. Provide critical input to the definition of the requirements, processes and controls that will shape the operational model that underpins the SEI Alternatives service.
  2. Operate and enhance the operational procedures, processes and controls in the Alternatives service, whilst undertaking the day to day operational activities.
  3. Apply your specialist Private Equities / Credit and Hedge Funds knowledge, combined with your knowledge of the service and the systems to support the ongoing business.
  4. Conduct complex query analysis and resolution including client queries & internal issues.
  5. Prepare and support the preparation, monitoring and reporting on the RCSA (risk & control self-assessment) for teams in the UK Private Banking unit (including Operations, SWP and Technology) feeding the SIEL firm wide RCSA. Responsibilities include:
    1. Supporting the development, monitoring and maintenance of risk registers
    2. The development and analysis of key risk indicators
    3. Key control testing and assessment
    4. Monitoring and reporting of operational risk events
    5. Work closely with the business and control function to identify risks
    6. Undertake and report on operational risk trend analysis
    7. Plan, report and track remediation plans/actions related to gaps in RCSA
    8. Challenge the framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose
  6. Support the development and implementation of SIEL's Operational Resilience framework in line with the Bank of England, FCA, and PRA requirements, including:
    1. Interpretation of regulatory expectations
    2. Identification of existing frameworks and policies
    3. Mapping of important business services and products
    4. Validating impact tolerances and testing scenarios
    5. Maintaining communication plans for disruptions
    6. Conduct operational resilience training
    7. Continuously improve the resilience framework
  7. Ensure resilience risks are identified and reported, and develop plans to address these risks across various domains.
  8. Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery arrangements, including testing and updates.
  9. Contribute to management reporting on operational risk events, resilience, and processing.
  10. Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
  11. Maintain understanding of policies, procedures, risk appetites, and ensure proper escalation of incidents.
What we need from you:
  1. BA/BS degree in related field (or equivalent); or the equivalent in education and work experience.
  2. Industry-related experience of alternative assets and their characteristics.
  3. Knowledge of the investment processing industry.
  4. Proven ability to manage multiple agendas and achieve results.
  5. Business writing skills.
  6. Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
