Role Purpose

Define and govern the right Azure AI architecture, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into Azure native AI solution architectures.
• Design end to end architectures using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, ML, data platforms, compute, networking, and identity.
• Select and define architecture patterns (RAG, agentic workflows, streaming vs batch, hybrid approaches).
• Define non functional requirements: security, scalability, performance, cost, availability.
• Ensure alignment with Azure best practices, security standards, compliance, and governance.
• Select and validate AI Factory accelerators for suitability and architectural fit.
• Review and approve technical designs before and during execution.
• Guide AI Engineers on design intent, trade offs, and constraints.
• Own architectural decision making and resolve design level risks and blockers.
• Review solution readiness for UAT and production handover.
• Support customer technical discussions and build architecture confidence.

Primary Skills

• Strong communication skills and experience in managing stakeholder relationships to gain consensus on complex technical solutions.
• Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing solutions on premises, in the cloud, and using hybrid models.
• Hands on experience deploying a variety of generative models.
• In depth experience fine tuning and customizing pre trained AI models with a good understanding of patterns and practices in AI data engineering and large data processing.
• Hands on in Prompt Engineering, Azure OpenAI, Form Recognizer, Cognitive Search, Vector Databases.
• Develop and deliver upskilling sessions to the customer.
• Python and PySpark.

• MLOps and LLMOps.
• Providing expertise in AI - certifications listed below.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)
• Microsoft Certified: Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303/AZ-304)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100)
• Databricks Professional Certificate in Large Language Models
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem solving skills.

Mandatory Requirements

• 15 years of IT experience with at least 5 years on Azure.
• Active Security Check clearance (UK Government).
• Expertise in Azure Cloud Architecture.
