We're thrilled to offer an exciting contract opportunity with one of our top-tier financial services clients. They are undergoing a major transformation and are actively integrating AI across their platforms. To support this effort, they are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join their team through the end of November, with strong potential for extension.

Role Overview:

You'll join the Client Services and KYC Group, contributing to the Onboarding and KYC (Know Your Customer) value stream. This area focuses on building next-gen onboarding experiences by integrating intelligent automation and cutting-edge AI. With a clear roadmap for scaling AI use across the enterprise, you'll help shape how advanced machine learning and generative AI are applied to solve high-impact business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI/ML models for intelligent document processing (IDP), focusing on text and image-based content extraction and classification.
Maintain a strong focus on code quality, security, and resilience in all ML pipelines and APIs.
Apply both traditional machine learning and generative AI techniques to automate and enhance onboarding workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams - product managers, data scientists, and software engineers - to translate business goals into intelligent, scalable solutions.
Prototype and iterate rapidly on AI-powered features using Python-based ML/OCR frameworks.
Contribute to the full product lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven expertise in Document AI/Intelligent Document Processing, using both traditional ML models and Generative AI (e.g., open-source LLMs and fine-tuning for domain-specific tasks).
Strong experience delivering machine learning solutions in Python, with applied knowledge in NLP, OCR, image processing, and deep learning.
Familiarity with core libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, SpaCy, OpenCV, and Regex.
A practical understanding of productionising AI systems, including performance optimisation, robustness, and security.

Nice to Have:

Background working in agile teams delivering features at a rapid cadence to production.
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases for storing and managing model outputs and metadata.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services, especially AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure DevOps, and Azure CLI.
