Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned AI Consultant to lead AI driven transformation programs for retail banking operations, helping clients reimagine customer journeys and back office efficiency using AI, GenAI, and intelligent automation. This role focuses on delivering measurable business outcomes-cost reduction, improved customer experience, enhanced compliance, and increased automation-across high volume retail banking processes. The candidate will work closely with clients' business and technology leaders to shape strategy, design solutions, and drive execution at scale.

Client Advisory & Transformation Leadership
  • Lead end to end AI transformation engagements for retail banking clients.
  • Advise CXOs (COO, CIO, Head of Operations, Digital Heads) on:
  • AI strategy and operating model
  • GenAI adoption in customer and operations functions
  • Identify, prioritize, and quantify high value AI use cases across retail banking.
Retail Banking Process Transformation

Drive AI led automation across key retail banking domains:

  • Customer Onboarding & KYC
  • AI based document verification and IDP
  • eKYC automation and compliance checks
  • Lending Operations
  • Automated income verification and risk scoring
  • Payments & Cards Operations
  • Fraud detection and transaction monitoring
  • Customer Service
  • Conversational AI, agent copilots, and GenAI assistants
  • Collections & Recovery
  • Predictive collections models and prioritization
  • Define architecture for AI/ML and GenAI solutions (cloud native platforms).
  • Lead design and implementation of:
    • NLP based automation
    • Computer vision and document processing
  • Integrate AI solutions into:
    • Digital channels (mobile/web)
  • Drive adoption of:
    • Workflow orchestration tools
    • Straight Through Processing (STP)
    • First Time Right (FTR)
  • Establish reusable automation frameworks and accelerators.
Data, AI Governance & Responsible AI
  • Explainability, fairness, and auditability
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements:
    • KYC/AML guidelines
    • Data privacy (GDPR, local regulations)
  • Define MLOps processes for model lifecycle management.
Delivery & Program Management
  • Lead multi disciplinary teams (data scientists, engineers, SMEs).
  • Manage complex programs across geographies.
  • Ensure delivery quality, timelines, and financial targets.
Business Development & Practice Growth
  • Support sales and pre sales activities: solutioning, proposals, client pitches.
  • Build repeatable offerings and industry solutions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership (POVs, whitepapers, client workshops).
Qualifications & Experience
  • 12+ years of experience in consulting, banking, or AI transformation roles.
  • Minimum 6+ years in retail banking domain.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI/automation programs at scale.
Core Competencies
  • Retail Banking Expertise
    • Strong understanding of retail products: savings, credit cards, mortgages, personal loans, and operations: onboarding, payments, servicing, collections.
    • Familiarity with regulatory environment in retail banking.
  • AI & Automation Skills
    • Machine learning (classification, forecasting, anomaly detection)
    • Generative AI: Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
    • RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
    • AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
    • Executive communication and storytelling
    • Structured problem solving
    • Value articulation and ROI modeling
    • Stakeholder management across business & IT
    • Team leadership and mentoring
    • Preferred credentials: AI/ML specializations, experience with Tier 1 global banks or Irish banks, Big 4 / top consulting firms experience.
    • Leadership expectations: Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, Drive innovation led transformation, not just automation, Balance strategy + execution + commercial outcomes, Champion responsible and ethical AI adoption.
