Job Description
The Purpose of the role:

The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Solicitor will provide expert legal advice and support across a wide range of agricultural and rural property matters. They will manage a diverse caseload with precision and professionalism, delivering exceptional client service and fostering long term relationships within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising clients on a broad range of agricultural and rural issues, including land ownership, tenancies, and succession planning.
  • Managing property transactions for rural and agricultural clients, ensuring thorough due diligence at every stage.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
  • Providing clear and practical guidance on regulatory, planning, and compliance matters affecting rural properties.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
  • Working closely with colleagues across other departments to deliver comprehensive, joined up legal advice.
  • Staying informed of developments in agricultural, rural, and property law, ensuring clients receive up to date guidance.
  • Conducting legal research to support accurate and effective advice.
  • Meeting time recording and billing targets while maintaining high professional standards.
  • Managing a varied caseload efficiently and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ensuring all client matters are progressed effectively and files are maintained to a high standard of compliance.
Candidate Requirements:
  • A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in agricultural or rural property law.
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness within the agricultural and rural sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client care skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple matters independently.
