Afterschool Club Leader

Hours: 14 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year (term time only).
Contract: Fixed term (till end of December 2026), required ASAP.
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and organised After School Club Leader to lead our popular after school provision. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment at the end of the school day.
About the RoleAs Afterschool Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of fun, age appropriate activities for children aged 4-11. You will create a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their time after school.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and lead engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games and homework support
- Ensure the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children at all times
- Prepare and serve snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures
- Maintain daily registers and records, including incidents and parent communication
- Set up and clear away equipment, maintaining a clean and organised space
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff
- Supervise staff, volunteers or play workers where applicable
- Monitor resources and report any supply needs
- Experience working with children aged 4-11
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan and lead structured activities
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Food hygiene certification
Experience leading or supervising others
SEN experience
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
