Job Description

This role supports a national public health improvement programme working with local authorities across England to improve services and outcomes, including through peer reviews and targeted support.

As an Adviser, you will manage projects, coordinate work-streams, engage stakeholders, and producing reports. You will also organise meetings and events, maintaining strong partnerships, and contributing to the overall delivery of the programme.

Description

  • Provide administrative and organisational support to the department.
  • Arrange meetings and events, taking follow up actions as required, and liaise with relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of reports and other documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data is managed securely.
  • Support the implementation of departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Handle correspondence and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Profile

A successful Adviser (Public Health) should have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or project support role within the public sector
  • Broad understanding of local government and its functions
  • Experience of adult social care services/public health
  • Experience of working on remotely delivered programmes
  • Experience managing complex workloads, including planning, prioritising, and meeting deadlines and milestones
  • Experience applying project management principles across multiple projects
  • Proficient in using a range of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet-based systems
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Job Offer

  • Hourly rate of £26.41-£31.29, dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working model (2 days in the office)
