Main Duties of the Job
  • Deliver high quality musculoskeletal podiatry care to a broad patient group
  • Maintain practice in at least one other core podiatry area
  • Support Clinical/Operational Leads in implementing service strategy in line with HCP/Trust policy
  • Develop, implement and evaluate clinical guidelines, care and protocols
  • Manage a clinical caseload and act as a specialist resource for colleagues and other healthcare professionals
  • Work with patients with musculoskeletal pathology and long term conditions or complex pain on a daily basis to maximise improvement through high levels of clinical skill and behaviour change management and shared decision making
  • Work alongside and receive referral from other health professionals to agree care plans to prevent/manage podiatric conditions
  • Clinical supervisor to students on placement
  • Support and supervise junior staff and provide specialist team training for healthcare professionals
  • Undertake appraisals, CPD, clinical rotation, supervision, mentoring and peer review, trust colleagues and external members

Person Specification Qualifications
  • BSc Podiatry / Equivalent
  • Full HCPC Registration
  • POM Certificate
  • MSC or evidence of study at master's level / evidence of experience and managing an advanced case load
  • Full driving Licence holder with own car
  • IRMER Certificate
  • Membership to professional body
  • NHS experience
Experience
  • Graduated long enough to have developed the extended clinical skills and knowledge that would be required of an enhanced practitioner in msk/biomechanics
  • Considerable experience working in a clinical leadership role supervising other experienced staff
  • Evidence of undertaking or participating in audit/research and/or clinical trials and actioning results
