Job Summary:

  • Dudley Children's Services is seeking Advanced Social Work Practitioners to join the Centre for Professional Practice.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for experienced practitioners passionate about developing social work practice and supporting Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) through their Assessed and Supported Year in Social Work (ASYE).
  • Practitioners will work alongside social work teams to model good practice, provide group supervision, and deliver one-to-one development support, contributing to improved outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
  • Support NQSWs in their ASYE by sitting alongside them in teams, modelling best practice and providing direct guidance.
  • Deliver group supervision sessions and one-to-one development meetings for social workers.
  • Contribute to audit and quality assurance processes within Children's Services.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Practice Framework and support service-wide practice improvements.
  • Support Student Social Work placements and other workforce development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams using restorative, strengths-based approaches.
  • Actively contribute to the Principal Social Worker function and promote professional development opportunities for staff.
Skills/Experience:
  • Qualified and experienced Social Worker with proven practice expertise.
  • Experience as a Practice Educator or in supporting NQSWs through ASYE.
  • Strong knowledge of family safeguarding and multi-disciplinary working.
  • Expertise in strengths-based, restorative social work approaches.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and model good practice within teams.
  • Experience in audit, quality assurance, and workforce development.
  • Passionate about professional development and improving social work practice.
