Barnsley Children's Services are seeking a non case holding advanced social work practitioner to work within Barnsley's children with disabilities service to support in driving forward service developments & other key areas of focus. The candidate must have a social work degree qualification. Any potential candidate must have several years experience of working within children's safeguarding services & experience of working with children with disabilities at a senior practitioner level. Experience of supervising others is desirable. This will be a non-case holding role, whereby you will support the Designated Social Care Officer with rolling out training, co-production with parents/carers, children & young people, the co-development of Social Care/SEND services and the new Barnsley short breaks team. This role is initially for a 3 month period. The applicant must have drive, initiative & be able to effectively manage their time to complete projects within a tight timescale. The candidate will work with health, SEND, social care & other partners across the SEND landscape and must have a sound knowledge of children's legislation, including the SEND code of practice and education law.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
