Adult Social Care Solicitor

Service Care Solutions are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Durham to recruit an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their legal services team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with strong experience in Adult Social Care and Court of Protection work to join a supportive Local Authority legal team and manage a varied and complex caseload.

Contract Details

• Contract: 3 months initially, with the potential for extension
• Location: Durham/Hybrid
• Rate: £50-£60 per hour Umbrella, depending on experience
• PAYE (including holiday pay): £44.10-£52.95 per hour

Key Responsibilities as an Adult Social Care Solicitor

• Providing specialist legal advice to Adult Social Care teams on a range of complex matters.
• Managing a caseload involving the Court of Protection, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding issues.
• Advising on deprivation of liberty matters, including applications to the Court of Protection where required.
• Providing advice in relation to the Care Act 2014 and other relevant adult social care legislation.

About you as an Adult Social Care Solicitor

• Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
• Previous experience working within Adult Social Care Law.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection procedures.
• Experience dealing with safeguarding and deprivation of liberty matters.
