Job Description

Are you a self motivated, enthusiastic, customer focused individual with experience working in a busy admissions office environment? If you have a proven aptitude for providing a professional, efficient and accurate service, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

Part of Birkbeck's Registry, the Admission team is responsible for providing an effective central admissions service to applicants from across the globe, from enquiry to enrolment. Working closely with the academic departments, you will assess applications in a timely and professional manner, input admissions decisions into the student database, and issue offers to applicants. You will play a key role in the University's recruitment objectives, and participate in Open Days and events.

We are looking for an individual who can work effectively as part of a team, manage their own time, and be willing to work flexibly across a number of activities at once to meet deadlines.

You will be required to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail and a high regard for personal and sensitive data, to support compliance with external legal requirements and to provide a consistent and excellent level of customer service.

Alongside administration, customer service is also a key focus of this role, therefore you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must have strong IT skills, be familiar with using MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.), and experience of maintaining a student database is essential.

You will work in a busy but supportive environment that encourages personal and career development. You also have the opportunity to apply for Birkbeck's Study Assistance Scheme, if you are interested in studying at Birkbeck while you work.

Located in Bloomsbury, central London, the post will involve a mixture of home working and in office work, in line with Birkbeck's flexible working arrangements.

Benefits of working at Birkbeck: a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements, generous benefits in the HE sector.

Contract
